About CMS and what you need to support your web in general ....         to my Resume Portal

A PHP Content Management System (CMS) such as Joomla or Drupal¹ provides a backend for your web. C5, Typo3 are among others².

Hosting, Performance, Development, and Maintenance

Performance is largely a function of your hosting (more...). Monthly support provides a basis for development and maintenance (more...) .

The Look and Feel of Your Site

CMSes generally come with some themes installed and with the exception of C5 all those mentioned here have numerous publicly available free and priced ones that can be used. If you want a custom look and feel developed for your app/site, you can either hire a graphic artist/design shop to work with me for that purpose, give me your specifications for minor modifications to such a theme, or give me your specifications for a new one. I am not a graphic artist and if you require a high quality commercial skin I will have to subcontract it to one.

E Commerce and other Integrations and Customizations

You may want to have a package such as Magneto, osCommerce, etc. integrated into your app. This can be done and in such a manner that visitors to your site will see it as seamless. However the integration of these packages will be superficial and this will be apparent to you in backend. VirtueMart is free but requires Joomla/Mambo. Volusion is not open source software but rather a priced service like PayPal, Amazon, etc. We are developing an advanced integrative framework but it not applicable to commercial contract work at this time so the integration performed here is simple to make the front end apply correct transactions to the backed systems.

How long and How much?

Depending on how much custom software development as little as 5 biz days if you only want a core CMS with a standard integration package for a minimum 2 months of the maintenance service (see PayPal link in the left navigation for current price).

This covers one package integration, say Joomla, Drupal, or C5 with (e.g.) osCommerce and a minimal theme development. Includes hosting and support as described in the underlined purple link above. To start a project for this go the PayPal page and make a donation for twice the amount shown for monthly support. You can initiate your regular monthly support at the end of the first two months.

I generally provide a fixed cost quote and timeline if you choose me as developer for your custom software development project.

Are there any sites using this?

This uses C5, this uses prior version (C4), this uses C3 .

Are you doing any development with this?

Tour the C5 sample site. (← login there as 'admin' with sent pw. Note: IE 6 and older Safari not supported³)

A strong point of C5 is the entire site is WYSIWYG editable. If possible please reverse any edits you make. If you need a guided tour call me

¹     I've used both in paid workA, B, C. The Typo3 site has a cogent graphic of the whole CMS space and here is a link to a a CMS evaluation procedure.
²     Each, however, has its strengths and weaknesses. WordPress is more of a blogging package than a CMS but a blog is content and TextPattern may be better for this. Joomla/Mambo and Drupal are the most popular PHP CMSes.
C5 is WYSIWYG using jquery AJAX and has a good core design whence its selection as our current default base PHP CMS.
³     Concrete5 has informed me they will not support IE6. I may do so however, I don't here in my domains but this is different. Safari 3 or better should be on any Mac, I was just late in upgrading.

Note: this service offering currently has little or nothing to with the use of this domain or items in the navigation to your left, except of for my resume portal and the PayPal page.
