Cloned for recomp
Of course the issue here is the well worn one of implicit culture scoping for the English wiki vs. presumed global perspective, which may not be as much of thing in the English wiki as it was at one time, at least for some native English speaking groupings.
In any case cloned here for a properly globalized version of what is still largely (but not entirely, my point in the original edits) a global phenomenon, i.e. the conflict between religion and fact based, i.e. secular authority, or the former even being a thing under much consideration, which by now in some fairly extensive realms, it isn 't.
When the SSO is enabled, this talk page will be as well.
