Physical Object

I am trying to understand a one-dimensional actually existing object and the only thing I can come up with is that strings are reified energy. Is that what a string is, just a scalar amount of pure energy without other extent, and thus the lowest and final level of real physical existence? If so why doesn't the article say that? If not, what physical object is a string, since I tend to think of actually existing things as necessarily having 3 dimensions plus time? Perhaps the article should say that a string is physical concept corresponding to the smallest possible actually existing object (dimensionality unspecified) Root 18:32, 12 February 2010 (UTC)
