i.e. those web graphical design systems I support with codebooks:

A popular method of web development is to develop "mock-ups" with a given graphical treatment to be supported by backend software.

In a development process which is all of literate, examined, and (having gotten) real, a mock is essentially a pre-production version of the contracted thing.

¹ In general, unless released under some license, these always require cooperation/permission of original author.
² My generic applications use Zen wireframes and an authenticated use can select any installed Zen theme. CL-XSL is the designation of my effort to support this with a design mandate to model an application strictly as implementation independent transforms on XML, RDF, etc. codifying the underlying domain applications for mockups using any of the above in a manner allowing it to be used in the aii.biz context.
