This page is primarily about the collection of function I maintain, not the use of third party solutions like Skype or Zoom, which I use as an ordinary free level user.
This service is live on this page if the doorbell on the More... page has a light blue button.<br>

<br>Guacamole, the Apache desktop server is the default and only fully integrated backend for this major function. If an SSO session is active, clicking the desktop link on the doorbell should go to the guac server instead of this article. My desktop normally looks like the image above.
<br>

In Tele, Jitsi presenter mode is used for presentation but Guacamole for collaborative desktop sharing in MCP context. If a SAR session is active, clicking the desktop link on the doorbell should go to a guac server instead of this article. A common carriers' version, such as Zoom, may be used instead if the generics have been instantiated for it.
A VT common carriers' version may be used instead if supported, eg. Skype or Zoom, if it is free and works well except in the case of offers of service at S class in which case the doorbell support must be used.

=== Be at an actual desktop ===

With origins going back past the Flash Red5 ofla stuff to more recent Skype and lately with Jitsi as default VT/desktop sharing, the first commercial platform target, '''Ft''' is simply a marque for  streaming I use when developing that function. In the current usage, Red5 (no longer supported ofc) would be the Common Carrier for the VT major function. The other major function of Ft is desktop sharing. Ft abstracts these major functions to support various backends.
Tablets such as iPad Pro and Galaxy Note may be supported later but for now an actual Linux, Mac, or Windows desktop is. Support may be discussed initially via small form factor.

Jitsi is currently used for the videotelephony function provided by me and is therefore the default.

== Secure Connections ==
The DS doorbell fronts the selected VT provider and is the default means of live interaction. SAR (single authentication realm) users can use the soft smart doorbell similar to the physical apps.

Your connection is secure, only SSO users can connect to the guacamole server or use the doorbell.
==== Phone  ====

Social registration with apple, facebook, or google is free. Manual registration is discouraged, only available thru one landing, and requires admin approval.
To avoid voice mail, let me know so I can add you to contacts. The concept of the soft smart doorbell pretty much replaces the impromptu call by analogy to a doorbell IRL and it's embedded in the DS App.

Whether or not I'm involved, which if I am I can live support the activity, the following points can make for a smoother sharing experience. In cases where I am providing professional services, you don't need to be an AKPERSON to use the doorbell but at least token entitlement will be necessary before any service can proceed.
While I may answer the doorbell with video enabled, the default is voice plus text with video by mutual agreement. Just being developed, the conversational <html><a href=https://irc.sameboat.network>agents</a></html>, mixing streams of my live and automated person&aelig;, will later be the main service channel.

=== Choose mode of interaction ===
==== Video ====

==== Phone  ====
Jitsi is provided free from these domains as a default. Apple FaceTime, Skype and Zoom are supported for first contact. Video need not involve a face-face interaction, it can be voice, text and screen sharing without a live feed other than the desktop presentation.

Like most people by now I don't answer calls on my phone(s) from unknown callers so email first if that is your preferred mode. A phone can be used with the app version of the doorbell.

==== Ft Doorbell ====
You shouldn't share your hosting and other service provider login info but have it ready to use on your side of things or use it before or outside screen sharing.

The Ft doorbell fronts the selected VT provider and is the default means of live interaction. You will need to authenticate via SSO and may need to expand the doorbell bar by clicking on the flap to use a F1 clip code. You otherwise don't need to arrange by analogy with a physical doorbell.
In a regular biz case ...

==== Chat Channels ====
Your F class capitation includes provisioning at the system limits. For over these quotas you can either use your AWS, Azure, GCP or Linode accounts or be billed monthly. In the first case set the vendor login info in your DCMS profile.  The order in which I am implementing cloud vendor support is Linode, AWS, GCP and Azure.

Instead of or in addition to voice and/or video, you can use the text chat of the VT provider, the default being voice plus text, consistent with established usage about video. Additionally the conversational agents supplied via

==== VT Provider ====
== Ft Common Carrier ==

Jitsi is provided free from these domains. Third party providers that have a free service level are supported and may be integrated here. Zoom and Skype are under some circumstances acceptable alternatives but I don't keep any 3rd party VT running so it needs to be scheduled by email.
Tele is a marque for the bundling of videotelephony (VT) and screen sharing for embeding in the domains CMS and domain space generally.

=== Have hosting authentication ready ===
<blockquote style="font-size:10px;">
With origins going back past the Flash Red5 ofla stuff to more recent Skype and lately with Jitsi as default VT/desktop sharing, the first commercial platform target, '''Ft Tele''' is simply a mnemonic for  streaming in the two major functions, under my development. In the current usage, Red5 (no longer supported ofc) would have been the original Common Carrier for the VT major function. The other major function of Ft is desktop sharing. Ft abstracts and unifies these major functions to support various backend providers who then become common carriers.
</blockquote>
Jitsi as integrated <html><a href=https://jitsi.sameboat.network>here</a> or via its <html><a href=https://meet.jit.si>outlets</a></html> is currently the default common carrier.

If you have paid a capitation fee then hosting is provided per the service level chosen. Currently, this will be your AWS, Linode, or self hosting account. Information needed to act as your proxy in provisioning from these is stored encrypted in your DCMS profile and is known in plaintext only to you similar to passwords. Self hosting means your pre provisioned inventory, it's not dynamic in the same manner as a cloud hosting provider.
